About the Role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO) in Algeria is seeking a Specialist National UN Volunteer to support the UN Country Team (UNCT) in strengthening inter-agency coordination through digitalization and AI-driven solutions.

The role focuses on improving joint planning, monitoring & evaluation, reporting, and strategic decision-making, while supporting the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023–2027.

📍 Location: Algiers (UN Premises)
🕒 Duration: 11 months (with possibility of extension)

Responsibilities

Digital Transformation & Artificial Intelligence

Analyze opportunities for digital and AI tools to enhance inter-agency coordination and propose actionable recommendations
Lead innovative initiatives within Results Groups and coordination platforms, with a view to scaling proven solutions
Identify capacity-building needs in digitalization and AI and support the design and delivery of targeted trainings
Contribute to the development and use of dynamic and intelligent dashboards for collective performance monitoring
Promote a data-driven culture and responsible use of AI across the UNCT

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

Support data collection, consolidation, and analysis to produce dashboards, infographics, and cross-cutting insights
Apply advanced data analysis to identify trends, emerging risks, and strategic opportunities
Design data visualizations for publications, communication, and advocacy activities
Support UNINFO data entry, reporting processes, and optimization of platform usage
Contribute to automation of reporting and visualization processes in line with UN standards
Support preparation of the UN Annual Results Report and other collective analytical products
Coordinate with government counterparts and national partners to ensure coherence of UN support

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data science, information systems, applied statistics, computer engineering, management, or a closely related field
Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience
Qualifications or experience in Monitoring & Evaluation required
Experience in development programmes or public policy is an asset
Experience in coordination or project management
Prior experience within an international organization is an advantage
French: Fluent (required)
English: Working knowledge (desirable)
Arabic: Working knowledge (desirable)
Strong proficiency with Office tools and web-based management platforms
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI)
Solid understanding of data management, reporting workflows, and dashboards
